Products Used:
Gigabit optical modules and SFP fiber optic transceivers
Project Background:
In response to Industry 4.0, a leading home appliance factory in Shandong launched a smart factory upgrade. The goal was to enhance network performance to support real-time MES and AGV systems. The legacy copper cable infrastructure suffered from low bandwidth, poor anti-interference, and complex wiring.
Solution:
The project adopted Gigabit optical modules in combination with SFP fiber optic transceivers to deploy a high-reliability gigabit optical ring network throughout the factory, replacing the traditional copper cabling infrastructure. The optical modules feature high speed, low power consumption, and strong stability, while the SFP transceivers support hot-swapping, allowing for flexible expansion and meeting the requirements for long-distance, interference-resistant data transmission between devices.
Application Scenarios:
Communication links for AGV dispatch system in workshops
Real-time MES (Manufacturing Execution System) data exchange
High-speed interconnection between control terminals, production lines, and data acquisition units.
Project Outcome:
The upgraded optical network reduced overall network failure rate by over 60 percent, ensuring stable and responsive operation of MES and AGV systems. It laid a solid foundation for future digital and automated manufacturing.
